HENSOLDT Unveils Cutting-Edge Sensor & Defence Tech at DSEI 2025

German sensor specialist HENSOLDT is showcasing a diverse portfolio of advanced sensor technologies and software-defined solutions at DSEI 2025 in London (9–12 September 2025). Emphasising rapid threat detection, sensor fusion, AI-enhanced situational awareness, and seamless integration across land, air, and intelligence domains.

Air Domain Solutions

  • TRML-4D AESA Radar: A high-performance air-defence radar capable of detecting and tracking up to 1,500 targets within 250 km, including cruise missiles, rockets, UAVs, and aircraft.
  • SPEXER Surveillance Radar Family: Offers multi-range automatic detection and classification for ground, sea, and low-flying air threats.

Land Domain & Platform Integration

  • Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV): Solution package for armoured platforms integrating advanced systems like MUSS (Multifunctional Self-Defence System) and SETAS (See-Through Armour System).
  • Ceretron Sensor Fusion Platform: Aggregates multi-sensor data, applies AI-supported processing, and delivers a real-time operational picture to crews in seconds.
  • TAROSS (Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance Optronical Sighting System): A modular, scalable optronic sighting solution designed for RWS, medium-calibre turrets, light reconnaissance vehicles, and UGVs. Offers AI-enabled detection and tracking, with direct integration into Ceretron for seamless sensor-to-shooter workflow.

Airborne SIGINT Capabilities

  • PEGASUS (Persistent German Airborne Surveillance System): A SIGINT platform exploring radar and radio emissions, built on the Kalaetron Integral system. HENSOLDT will integrate this system onto three Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft for the German armed forces.

Software-Defined Defence (SDD) Emphasis

HENSOLDT underscores the importance of software-defined defence—enabling modular, interoperable, future-ready systems. Ceretron and TAROSS exemplify this approach through flexible integration and networking capabilities.

Strategic & Market Context

  • HENSOLDT continues to expand its influence as a European leader in defence electronics, reporting a turnover of €2.24 billion in 2024 and employing around 9,000 staff following the ESG GmbH acquisition.
  • The DSEI 2025 showcase reflects not just product readiness but also strategic positioning in an evolving defence landscape driven by AI, digitalisation, and rapid operational integration.

Key Points

  • Multi-domain sensor coverage: air, land, airborne SIGINT.
  • Integration of AI and sensor fusion into operational workflows.
  • Software-defined, modular approach enabling interoperability and rapid scalability.
  • Alignment with broader strategic trends—digital sovereignty, enhanced C5ISR, readiness for multi-domain operations.
